Stories from the Crowd: Haikus
by Rian Kochel
I want for nothing
except for an escape from
everything I need
Long days melt on ice
cigarettes burn in protest
whiskey wins the war
This life is a gift
a gift that has been given
without a receipt
Slumber and trouble
are separate entities
trouble never sleeps
I woke up talking
in my dream, you were laughing
I hate alarm clocks
Run down by a car
dancing until 4 am
this was my weekend
